Location

Nice is an exuberant party scene: from Carnival with the Battle of the Flowers to the Printemps des Poètes, from the Festival de Musique Sacrèe (Festival of Sacred Music) to the Nice Jazz Festival. Don’t miss the various architectural sites, such as the building of the library, TÍte au Carré, a stylized human head with square likenesses.

Obligatory visits include: Museums of Marc Chagall and Matisse, the Gallery Lafayette, the Russian Church of St. Nicholas, founded during the Belle Epoque. At sunset, when the sculptures of Jaume Plensa light up in tones of vermillion, the best thing is a tasty pan-bagnat sandwich in the bustling Place Massèna. Finally, you can’t do without a trip to the hills to admire the patchwork of roofs and streets of the old city, and enjoy the show: Nice by night, in evening dress, is superb.
