Discover Lyon


A few steps from our Hotel you will find the historic heart of Lyon, the largest Renaissance district in Europe. In the Old City of Lyon, which lies on the peninsula formed over the centuries between the Rhone and the Saône rivers, you can discover small squares and secret passages (Traboules), old artisan shops and the main shopping streets of Lyon.

If you raise your eyes from the Old City to the Fourvière Hill, you will see a gigantic overturned elephant. This is the Fourvière Basilica, which can also be reached on foot, which is the most important sacred site in Lyon, built where the first Christian martyrs were killed.

The National Opera of Lyon located a few minutes walk away, is the place dedicated to opera and dance. Discover an opera, a ballet, an underground concert or take part in a discovery workshop.

Considered as the green lung of the city of Lyon, the Tête d’Or Park is the meeting place for nature lovers and animals from around the world. It offers games for children, as well as a Guignol theater. Go there to relax, go for a walk or take a bike ride or simply go for a jogging tour from the hotel.

Rue de la Republique is the main pedestrian and shopping street in Lyon. The location of the Rue de la République, in the heart of the city, and the large number of shops that mark it make it one of the busiest streets of Lyon, day and night. You will find all types of shops including signs for luxury shopping.

Place Bellecour is the 4th largest square in France. You will find in the center a statue of Louis XIV or a statue, hidden from the Little Prince of St-Exupery. It is from this square that you can reach the rue de la République which leads to the Hôtel de Ville and the Opera, as well as the rue Victor Hugo which leads to the Carnot district.
